Since moving to Mount Pleasant in 2009 I have been an advocate for my neighbors, its residents. Over the past decade I have had numerous interactions with our Village Board and Staff related to development concerns which impacted us directly. During this time, it became apparent the Village did NOT have the residents’ best interest in mind. Developing as much of Mount Pleasant as possible is their priority. The Village Board continues down this path even after Foxconn’s obvious failure, as shown with their repeated TID approvals over the past two years. They are also financially supporting these viable, private companies' development plans, which equate to being Village subsidized corporate welfare.
This fixation on developing every square foot of Mount Pleasant comes with a cost, higher property taxes. In addition, higher property taxes are needed to support the continued increases year after year in the Village’s Annual Budget. The Village Board does not question, push back, nor hold a single department accountable for their increases during the annual budget review.
Understand that I’m not opposed to mindful development nor required increases in the village’s operating expenses.
However, these decisions should be made in a transparent and educated manner, while considering the impact on Mount Pleasant residents.
Educated, transparent and honest leadership while considering the impact on my fellow residents will be my intention when elected on April 4th.
I grew up in rural Sauk County, Wisconsin on my family’s dairy farm and graduated from Sauk Prairie High School. Afterwards I studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry.
My career in pharmaceutical Research & Development started at Abbott in 1998 as a bench scientist. Over the past 25 years I have held multiple global leadership roles within Abbott and now AbbVie. Beginning in 2012 I was the clinical project manager overseeing AbbVie’s clinical trials in Japan to cure HCV. Subsequently I was accountable for their global clinical trials for treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (a form of blood cancer). As part of my responsibilities, I oversaw budgets (over $130MM) and timelines (spanning over 4 years) to deliver important milestones. The launch of these pharmaceutical products were key corporate goals held by our Senior Leadership. Currently I am Director of Research Operations in US Medical Affairs overseeing AbbVie’s eye care products.
In my spare time I love to travel with my wife Angela and our two children. I also enjoy spending time boating with them as well as waterskiing. Prior to starting a family we were active volunteers for Shorewood Cocker Rescue, a Wisconsin based Cocker Spaniel dog rescue. One key accomplishment during that time was my helping to lead the establishment of their annual dog walk, which has become their biggest fundraiser each year. I'm an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. However, as a UW alumnus the Wisconsin Badgers are my favorite teams to follow.
As the parent of two students within RUSD, I'm proud to announce being endorsed by their teachers.
We all know how big a role teachers play in the development of our children. When elected I will do what it takes to ensure they and RUSD get the support needed from the Village of Mount Pleasant.

Sometimes great things can not be accomplished alone.
That is why Kelly, Kim, Eric and I have teamed up to execute our shared vision, putting residents first along with bringing open and honest local government back to the Village of Mount Pleasant.
We have committed to a clear and concise platform we intend to execute when elected. It is grouped into Five Pillars, as can be seen here.
